Erected on a previous Benedictine building in XII century revised in the Cistercian age, the actual Basilica (1305 Abbot Gualtiero da Lodi - 1335 Abbot Nordio of Treviso) shows the typical construction in Latin shape with a westerly facing façade and easterly facing apse just like Cistercian symbolism. In the interior of the basilica, notable among the valuable works present, is the large neo-gothic wooden altarpiece built by Venetian masters in 1921; a perfect copy of the original is present in Saint Zaccaria of Venice. It holds the sandstone statute of the Madonna of the Sacred Chalice that someone has hypothesised to be of Nubian origin of the VI century; always an object of veneration and pilgrimage on the part of the Follinesi and by thousands of faithful coming from all over Italy. It also houses the "Madonna with Child and Saints" fresco of 1527 by Francesco da Milano and a remarkable wooden crucifix of baroque age (Camaldolese age) by unknown authors. The splendid cloister, older than the basilica and perfectly preserved in the elegant effect of movement created by the columns that hold it, it was brought to an end in 1268 when the Cistercian monks placed themselves in the monastery as illustrates the incision on the stone placed in the north part of the same cloister. It is erected from the junction of the main aisle with the right-hand transept, the beautiful bell tower of square-shaped Romanic style, the most ancient handicraft present in the architectural complex of the abbey. The elegant little Abbey Cloister and Loggia of the XVI century is also present.
