Piazza Centrale di Cassanego

Cassanego appeared on 13th- and 14th-century documents as an historical centre, and was annexed to the adjacent village of Borso. Ruins from its ancient Venetian and Roman past were found. As for the Roman era, funerary artefacts were excavated in the area, part of which are currently displayed at Asolo and Bassano museums. The San Cassiano cult (to which the 'Cassanego' name is allegedly related) is symbolised by the local church of Sant'Eurosia. On the left, in the central square of the small village, stands a marker stone, possibly in its original location.
