A variety of findings shows evidence of the presence of the Romans in this territory: tiles, work equipment, ornamental objects, coins, etc. The most significant evidence is the stone sarcophagus by Gaio Vettonio Massimo, preserved at Saint Eulalia Parish Church. The inscription set on the frontal plaque shows the willing testamentary of a veteran Paduan of the Fabia tribe. He secluded himself to live in the pagus Misquilensis after military service, protecting himself from the oblivion, giving disposition to his fellow villagers of what was gained from his own capital which was handed over, every year, in offer of rosé and grapes scattered on his own sepulchre.
